was one of the leading figures in the development of abstract painting in Argentina during the 1950s. Her artwork Motifs in Blue of 1955 is characteristic of her own approach to geometric abstraction and at the same time it illustrates the principles of Argentine abstract art of the time. The painting is organized in squared and rectangular figures and, as its title indicates, the color blue dominates the composition, with some areas in gray, green, brown, and yellow. The picture is organized around a central axis of small rectangular figures that radiate outward in bigger rectangles that culminate in four large areas in the corners of the canvas.
